Zach’s experience in the industry spans many facets of production. As a digital artist at Industrial Light & Magic, he worked on numerous films and blockbusters such as Star Wars: Episode III, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, and the Academy Award winning Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. As a compositor, Zach has extensive experience on a wide range of national commercials, music videos, documentaries, and independent projects; filling roles as a director, an editor or a visual effects supervisor.
Most notable projects were the visually amazing Tron: Legacy (with Digital Domain), the much anticipated film adaptation of the beloved book The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (with Weta Digital), and the restoration of the 1979 film classic El Captain.
Additional credits include visual effects supervisor on the independent short films The Sand Storm (Telluride premier) and Oedipus (Sundance premiere).
After Hurricane Katrina, Zach co-produced and edited his own feature length documentary entitled Burn on the Bayou; based on a group of people that came together for the famed Burning Man festival but instead decided to travel to the Gulf Coast to volunteer.
